  • The sum of all outstanding amounts owed to suppliers is shown as the balance of accounts payable in the company’s balance sheet.
  • An increase or decrease in total AP compared to the previous period is displayed on the cash flow statement.
  • Management may decide to pay their outstanding invoices as close as possible to their due dates in order to improve cash flow.
