The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) is investigating allegations made against employers for discrimination against workers and job seekers.
It was created by Congress in 1964 to enforce Title VII of the Civil Rights Act.
Companies are subject to the law if they have 15 or more employees (20 or more employees in cases of age discrimination).
Laws apply to all aspects of work, including hiring, firing, promotion, harassment, training, wages and benefits.
