Home Dictionary E Euro Overnight Index Average (Eonia) Euro Overnight Index Average (EONIA) is the average base overnight rate at which European banks lend to each other in euros. EONIA is the interest rate for overnight loans between European banks. The Euro overnight average is calculated by the European Central Bank (ECB) based on loans from 28 panel banks.
