• The Gann fan, created by early market specialist W. D. Gann, consists of a series of slanted lines. The trader chooses a starting point and the lines go into the future.

  • Gann considered 45 degrees to be the most important, but Gann’s fan also draws angles of 82.5, 75, 71.25, 63.75, 26.25, 18.75, 15 and 7.5 degrees.
  • Fan Gann occurs at the bottom or top point. The resulting lines show areas of potential support and resistance in the future.
