The Interbank Electronic Transfer Network (INET) processed MasterCard debit and credit card transactions.

INET arranged the funds transfer and MasterCard’s Interbank National Authorization System (INAS) handled card authorization.
Later, these two systems were merged into Banknet, a single entity that unites all MasterCard data centers and issuing participants into one financial network.
