• The West African CFA franc (XOF) is the currency of eight West African countries: Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Niger, Senegal and Togo.

  • Once XOF was pegged to the French franc, and when France switched to the euro, the currencies maintained parity, where 100 CFA francs = EUR 0.152449
  • The West African CFA franc should not be confused with the Central African CFA franc (XAF) used by the countries of Central Africa.
