YTD refers to the period of time from the first day of the current calendar or fiscal year to the current date.

In some government agencies and organizations, the fiscal year starts on a date other than January 1st.
Year-to-date analysis is useful for managers to analyze interim financial statements in comparison to historical YTD financial statements.
