  • Yield includes price increases as well as any dividends paid, calculated as net realized earnings divided by principal (i.e. investment amount).
  • A higher return is perceived as an indicator of lower risk and higher return, but a high return may not always be positive, for example, in the case of an increase in dividend yield due to a fall in the share price.
