• Amendment to the Definition of “Insured Contract” An endorsement is a commercial general liability (CGL) standard endorsement (CG 24 26) that modifies the definition of an “insured contract” policy that defines the scope of coverage for contractual obligations by requiring that loss or damage, in respect of for which coverage is being sought was caused “in whole or in part” by the named insurer or persons acting on its behalf. Introduced in 2004, the purpose of the approval is to ensure that contractual liability coverage under the policy more closely matches the protection provided under the 2004 Supplemental Insured Approvals.
