• The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is a federal agency that is part of the US Department of Health and Human Services. The mission of the CDC is to collaborate to create the experience, information and tools that people and communities need to protect their health through health promotion, prevention of disease, injury and disability, and preparedness for new health threats. CDC is committed to fulfilling its mission by working with partners across the country and around the world to (1) monitor health, (2) identify and research health issues, (3) conduct research to improve prevention, (4) develop and promote healthy public health policies, (5) implement prevention strategies, (6) promote healthy behaviour, (7) promote safe and healthy environments, and (8) provide leadership and education.
