• An endorsement is a form of an insurance policy that either modifies or supplements the provisions included in one or more other forms used to create a policy, such as a declaration page or a cover form. Policy endorsements can perform any number of functions, including extending the scope of coverage, limiting or limiting the scope of coverage, clarifying the application of coverage for certain unique exposures, adding other parties as insured, or adding seats to the policy. They often make these changes by changing an existing insurance agreement, policy definitions, exclusions or terms on a coverage form, or by adding additional information, such as insured locations, to the classifieds page.
